Definition
Reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome (RPLS) is a neurological disorder which can present with headache, seizure, lethargy, confusion, blindness and other visual and neurologic disturbances. Mild to severe hypertension may be present, but is not necessary for diagnosis of RPLS. RPLS is also often referred to as posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES).
Onset/duration
Onset of RPLS usually occurs within days to weeks of treatment.
