Efficacy
It should be noted that as the subsequent consolidation that a patient receives may be variable in clinical practice, the complete remission (CR) and overall survival (OS) rates presented here may not directly comparable.
Of the 292 patients that received initial induction treatment with ICE, 234 patients (80%; 95%CI, 75-85%) achieved a complete remission (CR), with 225 of these patients doing so after a single course of ICE. A further 9 patients achieved CR after a second course of ICE.
The projected 3-year relapse free survival of the 202 patients that went on to receive the randomised consolidation therapy (1 x ICE vs 2 x IcE) was 48% (49% for the ICE arm and 46% for the IcE arm).r
Estimated survivial following consolidation randomisation at 3 years was 61% (61% for the ICE arm and 62% for the IcE arm).
