Description of 2D traditional field borders 

Direction Description
Anterior A minimum of 1 cm overshoot to the anterior skin surface at the level  of the true vocal folds.
Posterior At least to the anterior edge of the cervical vertebrae.
Superior At least to the superior aspect of the thyroid cartilage.
Inferior Inferior border of the cricoid.
For T2 tumours Expand the superior and /or inferior border for supraglottic and/or subglottic extension. If there is extensive subglottic extension, could be considered for regional nodal irradiation with conventional fractionation.
