Clinical safety note

There are physical and operational differences between the different types of CADD® pumps. This protocol is for the CADD-Legacy®1 pump. Incorrect programming can lead to over-infusion of medication and has the potential to cause serious injury and death. This pump is designed for continuous infusion of medication in mL/24 hrs.

Only health care professionals who have attained competency, as per institutional guidelines, in safe administration, handling and waste management, central venous access device care, and CADD Legacy®1 pump management should perform this procedure.
