Clinical safety note
There are physical and operational differences between the different types of CADD® pumps. Incorrect programming can lead to over-infusion of medication and has the potential to cause serious injury and death. This protocol is for the CADD®-Solis VIP pump. This pump is designed for continuous and intermittent infusions of medication in mL/hour.
Only health care professionals who have attained competency as per institutional guidelines in the safe administration, handling and waste management of cytotoxics, central venous access device care and CADD®-Solis VIP pump management should perform this procedure.
Note: Laboratory parameters or vital signs that are not within normal limits and/or patients with grade 2 or more toxicities should be referred to their medical officer for review prior to administration.
