Vinflunine may prolong the QT interval and increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmia. Vinflunine should be used with caution in patients with proarrhythmic risk (e.g. congestive cardiac failure, known history of QT interval prolongation, hypokalaemia).
Avoid concurrent use of drugs (see link for list of drugs) that may prolong the QT interval.
Ischaemic cardiac events may occur especially in patients who have underlying cardiac disease.
An electrocardiogram (ECG) should be performed at treatment initiation in patients presenting with symptoms of cardiac disease and considered in patients with risk factors for cardiac or pulmonary disease.
Caution should be used in patients with a history of cardiac disease. Cessation of vinflunine should be considered in patients who develop cardiac ischaemia
