Changes in cognition characterised by memory loss, forgetfulness and feeling vague during and after chemotherapy. Also referred to as 'chemo brain' or 'chemo fog'.
Chemotherapy can affect cognitive abilities in the following ways:
- word finding
- processing speed (taking longer to do tasks, that were previously quick and easy).
Approximately 20-30% of people who undergo chemotherapy experience some level of post-chemotherapy cognitive impairment.r
